I am a current Head of English and have taught pupils aged 11–18 for 27 years. I adore my subject, and love to share my enthusiasm and enjoyment of English with my pupils. I have two children of my own, so I understand the pressures that pupils face — not only as a teacher, but as a parent too.

I have taught in both independent and state schools and can tailor lessons to suit individual needs. I have been an examiner at both GCSE and A-Level and have excellent knowledge of a range of exam boards and their requirements. My expertise is in exam preparation and my results are outstanding — pupils under my care achieve and often surpass their target grades.

Pupils often know more than they think they do, and I enjoy seeing the progress that can be made in 1:1 sessions. Each session is tailored to the needs of the individual. I use quality resources and give detailed feedback, drawing on practice papers and mark schemes to ensure pupils are fully prepared for their examinations.
